Who We Are

Unified Healthcare for the Rural Underserved (UHRU) strives to improve the health and well-being of rural and underserved people worldwide. Our founders have lived and worked in Georgia and India and understand that people living in rural and underserved communities have limited access to health care, especially cancer screening.

UHRU has taken on the challenge to help underserved people worldwide. But who are the underserved? They are people who are disadvantaged in receiving health care because of ability to pay, ability to access care, or other disparities for reasons of race, religion, language group, social status or geography.

Now more than ever, it is important to increase access to care for everyone and to ensure no one is underserved. We strive to level the playing field so all people can enjoy a healthy and gratifying life.

We currently focus on reducing the burden of colon, breast and cervical cancers. As our organization and funding grows, we will create new health initiatives to ensure people in rural and underserved communities have access to health care even though they live worlds apart.
